The course was 5 star, Annie put us at ease from the first minute and delivered the course superbly. she gave us time to take on board the information and didn’t try to bombard us with information.
every session of the course was explained and Annie got all the delegates involved and active in the day.
I enjoyed the course and now have some knowledge to use when helping people with their issues. Nothing was too much trouble for Annie so brilliant.
Must also add that the shortbread that Annie supplied was not only delicious it was M&S too.
I would recommend this course to anyone thank you for all your work in training people up to help those with mental health issues
Thank You

I recently attended a 2 day mental health first aider training program.

All the team were friendly & welcoming into their lovely, modernised training suite set in the gorgeous Darley Abbey Mills.

Annie is absolutely amazing! Her knowledge, skills & passion for teaching mental health awareness is out of this world.

Annie was so flexible & attentive to our needs. I have a disability & she went the extra mile to make me comfortable by organising a parking space right outside the building, providing me with an erganomic chair & more opportunity for mobility so we weren’t sat down for long periods of time. This was all done discretely by asking me what they could do to help by email & I witnessed her asking others if mobility activities would help them also. (It was a red hot day for training & I think all appreciated it). I observed her modifying the activities to meet others needs too; as & when they arose.

Annie encouraged & provided equal opportunity for all to share their own experiences. She listened to all with genuine interest & helped us to see how our experience fitted in with the mental health first aider action plan.

Fresh water, fruit & other snacks were on our table to help ourselves to, throughout the day. Plenty of breaks were provided with a lovely buffet lunch too.

I highly recommend the course & this particular training provider.

Thank you & well done to the whole team, you’re all amazing! ?

I recently attended the 2-day Mental Health First Aid training at Loates Management Training and am really pleased I did. Sometimes it’s hard to allow yourself two days ‘off work’ and invest in your own development, but I’m glad I did. Apart from increasing my knowledge about mental health, the training has given me the confidence to approach staff about mental health, the focus to further invest in mental health awareness and – as a great bonus – the importance of self-care was a great reminder.

P.S. The training room in Loates’ new facility in Darley Mills is fantastic too – onsite parking and a stroll in the park at break time.

Huge thanks to Annie for running a very informative and positive MHFA refresher course. Great content and course structure.

Overall very impressed. The course was well taught by Annie who was knowledgeable, funny, open and kind. I would recommend to anyone for the simple benefit to further their understanding of the invisible struggles of yourself and others around you. I feel more confident to be able to spot people who are struggling and more able to approach them to be of assistance where possible. The atmosphere made it feel like a safe space and meeting people and hearing others’ views and stories was also beneficial to the learning experience.

Thank you!

Annie was lovely throughout the course. Mandy the lady that joined her on course was also great – both very knowledgeable on subject and full of empathy for offers of experiences within the training session.

Can’t wait to complete more courses through Loates – thanks again.

I found the mental health first aid training excellent, it was delivered sensitively and professionally, everyone’s points of view were considered and respected. I would thoroughly recommend this training to other voluntary sector organisations.

A highly informative and interesting course, delivered sensitively yet entertainingly by Amanda Jackson. I now feel way more equipped to deal with mental health issues both in my personal and professional life. A hugely beneficial two days – thank you.

Loates Management Training have fantastic offices in Darley Abbey Mills, which were perfect for holding the training course.

The course instructor Amanda, was very knowledgeable and delivered the 2 day course well. The course itself was informative, it helped increase awareness of mental health, the importance of having positive mental health, and the difficulties people can experience when they have poor mental health.

Having completed the course, I’m now better equipped to spot poor mental health and know how best to approach and support this in the workplace.
