Overview

Have you recently been promoted to a management position? Are you feeling apprehensive about stepping up and adjusting to your new responsibilities? Are you unsure about whether to interact any differently with your team?

Becoming a manager can be daunting – in addition to maintaining your own motivation and appeasing your boss, you’ve now got employees to keep engaged!

This interactive workshop will help you to navigate your new challenges as a manager and focus on what’s important.

We’ll be sharing top tips on how best to build trust and communicate with your team, as well as discussing best practice for performance management and setting expectations. Not only that, you’ll learn practical ways to manage your own stress and discover the benefits of having a mentor to guide you.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Understand your role as a manager
  • Build and maintain trust
  • Engage and inspire your team
  • Communicate, communicate, communicate
  • Set expectations and manage performance
  • Conduct effective one-to-ones
  • Manage your own stress

Format

When it comes to delivering online courses, we understand that everyone learns differently, which is why we facilitate a variety of different activities to enhance your understanding of the workshop content.

We encourage open discussion and participation, giving you the opportunity to exchange knowledge, engage in teamwork and work on your communication skills! We want to hear what you’ve got to say, so ask that your cameras and mics are switched on for the session.

You’ll have the chance to work individually and within small break-out groups as we complete a range of exercises including quizzes and polls, ultimately building both your confidence and expertise.

For a more personalised experience and to ensure a truly interactive workshop, we’ve found that group numbers are best kept between 8 and 10 delegates, with no more than 12 spaces being available.

Resources Included

We will provide you with a PDF of the workshop slides, copies of relevant handouts and a list of book recommendations discussed during the session!
