HR Training in the East Midlands

We’re a multi-award winning team of HR trainers in the East Midlands

We provide local HR training for East Midlands businesses

Ay up me duck!

We’ve been around as a company since 2011, with our founders having been based in Derby for nearly 30 years. We’ve seen the amazing changes that the city has undergone since then, and are proud to be part of its future.

So, we’re truly local. With a real office that you can actually visit in person. Not a ‘virtual office’. Not a distant call-centre in some far-away place. Not just a website, a collection of downloadable courses, or an anonymous voice on the phone. We’re actual people who’d really like to properly get to know you and your business, so we can fully understand exactly what you’re trying achieve and how we might best help you with that.

Our office is conveniently located at the scenic and historically interesting World Heritage site of Darley Abbey Mills, not far from Derby city centre. That’s it in the picture. Nice, huh?

Which means we’re readily available for a face-to-face chat. And since we have our own private meeting rooms, we can easily discuss the types of confidential or sensitive issues that might not be possible within a shared workspace or at your normal place of business.

So, you’re welcome to pop in if you’re passing. Or we’re equally happy to come over to your place. Or even meet online. Whatever works best for you.

We’re a leading East Midlands HR consultancy and HR training provider

We’ve already grown from a single-person business operating from home, to a 5-star rated multi-award winning company with offices and a whole team of HR consultants, trainers, and employment law experts. From our origins in HR support and consultancy we’ve diversified into HR, management, and wellbeing training, and are currently developing additional sister brands so that we can help you with a whole package of people-related support.

We’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far, and in particular, the reputation we’ve established within the local small business community. We offer you the stability of an established company, the credibility of one with a history of local clients, and the capability of one that’s grown beyond the one-person stage. You can be fully confident that we’re able to deliver what we promise, and can trust that we’ll reliably be there in the future when you need help.

But don’t take our word for it.

Just ask other East Midlands businesses what they think about our HR training.

The training was brilliant

The training was brilliant – took away a lot of information. Tell Sarah she scored 5 star all areas – polite, professional, knowledgeable and I wouldn’t change a thing

Boosted my spirit and made me laugh lots!

I have attended numerous training sessions with Annie and always find her to be an engaging and relevant trainer. My last session on ‘How to rebuild employee trust and morale’ was a worthwhile couple of hours that boosted my spirit and made me laugh lots! Now I am looking to see what other sessions you offer!

Management Development Programme – Thank you!

Annie and Tayla visited our offices this week for the second run of our Management Development Programme that they have developed for FPCR. We found them to be excellent in their delivery of the training, and very knowledgeable. All of our staff members enjoyed the training and looking to put our new tools into practice.

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Loates Training to other companies and look forward to welcoming them back in May for the next round of training.

Thanks Sarah!

Enscite asked Sarah to run a workshop on important HR policies required for Small Businesses so that our clients are better equipped to understand some of the HR requirements in relation to this. The session was really well run and both engaging and informative so that our clients went away with better knowledge and having enjoyed their learning experience.
Great job Sarah!

Very understanding and knowledgeable

Hi I really enjoyed this course and the course trainer is very understanding and knowledgeable. It was very nice to talk to people outside my work with no judgement. I felt free to talk to Annie. The only critic I have is the course was a bit short I could be on that course for the whole day and get more out of it although i have learned a great deal with the course. I intend to have more courses like this one in the future. A big thank you to Annie.

Full of insight and research

If you’re going to get conned into a seminar on GDPR it might as well be one that is full of insight and research that you’d spend 100s of hours on yourself ! And then a bonus of spreadsheets and templates to make your life so much easier leading up to May !!

A good start

A good start to mental health issues. I work with a lot of people with social anxiety and was hoping to gain more info on this topic but understand it may be a bit niche. I have definitely upskilled by attending this course.

Great conversation starter

Well executed course, which provided well thought out and informative group work during course, as well as many discussions later during scheduled breaks. Much to think about.

Excellent training

I recently attended the 2-day MHFA course and it was a pleasure to have Annie as our instructor for the 2-days, you can tell that she has been delivering training for some years as she was very knowledgeable and comfortable in delivering the course subject matter. I envisaged the course to be very intense and PowerPoint driven but this was not the case there was plenty of interaction on the course with other attendees and chances to discuss our own experiences which really helps in linking everything together from the course content. Plus any instructor that brings a goodie basket will always be welcome. A thoroughly enjoyable course thank you again Annie.
