How to be an Inclusive Employer
Wednesday 29th May , 09:30 – 12:30
Are you looking to attract a broader range of talent to your business? Do you feel your recruitment practices could be more inclusive? Are you seeking guidance on how to hire without bias?
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) is a specialist area of HR which, when taken into consideration by those who manage the employee hiring process, can make a huge difference to the attraction, recruitment and retention of a diverse workforce.
This workshop is ideal for those with HR responsibilities who have little or no knowledge of ED&I and are keen to develop their understanding of the role they can play in becoming a more inclusive employer.
We’ll cover basic terminology, legislation, employer branding, how to create inclusive job adverts and how you can avoid impacting your hiring processes with bias. You’ll finish the workshop armed with top tips on best recruitment practices and valuable insights from the experiences of others.
By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
- Define and understand diversity and inclusion in the context of recruitment
- Hire without bias through inclusive job adverts and competency-based assessments
- Understand how to attract a broader range of talent to your business
When it comes to delivering online courses, we understand that everyone learns differently, which is why we facilitate a variety of different activities to enhance your understanding of the workshop content.
We encourage open discussion and participation, giving you the opportunity to exchange knowledge, engage in teamwork and work on your communication skills! We want to hear what you’ve got to say, so ask that your cameras and mics are switched on for the session.
You’ll have the chance to work individually and within small break-out groups as we complete a range of exercises including quizzes and polls, ultimately building both your confidence and expertise.
For a more personalised experience and to ensure a truly interactive workshop, we’ve found that group numbers are best kept between 8 and 10 delegates, with no more than 12 spaces being available.

We will provide you with a PDF of the workshop slides, copies of relevant handouts and a list of book recommendations discussed during the session!
