Great Course

I really enjoyed this course and the content was just right. A valuable insight into mental health and how it may impact on the individual you are supporting. Signs to look out for, some of which are not obvious. A lot of group work, which I prefer, as you can brain storm together and learn from each other. Some great video’s to watch too.
How to be an ‘active listener’, which is not as easy as it sounds. Role play helped with this. The manual you can access online is a great resource.
What an honour to gain this qualification and to be able to support your colleagues.

Great course

Although having been a manager for many years there is always more you can learn. Also, provides an opportunity to reflect on your own practice and validate you are ‘doing a good job’!. This course did exactly that.
Sarah, the trainer, was fantastic, delivered the course really well, got everyone engaged. I particularly liked the way she asked participants questions without them necessarily expecting it. Very easy during virtual training to be distracted with other work, particularly with the camera off! Sarah made sure she had everyone’s attention, gave everyone the opportunity to contribute and was very knowledgeable about the subject. She utilised participants experience well.
Great course, would highly recommend to new and long standing managers.

Excellent training with an understanding of the human condition

Working with Loates Training has been very informative within a very friendly atmosphere,
Annie is able to break down any barriers, and to create an environment which is ideal for learning.
The topics covered have been very relatable and with break out sessions being fun an ensures the involvement of all staff.

Informative and interesting course

Sarah provided training to a group of line managers in our business with the aim of giving them more confidence in dealing with everyday situations which they come up against. Sarah delivered the training in an informative and interesting way and engaged the managers which made the day go by in a flash. Sarah was also very flexible with timings in order to accommodate the different shifts. I would recommend Loates Management Training to any business.

Very understanding and knowledgeable

Hi I really enjoyed this course and the course trainer is very understanding and knowledgeable. It was very nice to talk to people outside my work with no judgement. I felt free to talk to Annie. The only critic I have is the course was a bit short I could be on that course for the whole day and get more out of it although i have learned a great deal with the course. I intend to have more courses like this one in the future. A big thank you to Annie.

Informative, fun and engaging

Sarah’s training sessions are informative, fun and engaging. She has been very accommodating and flexible, tailoring her courses to our needs and managing our last minute requests with a smile on her face! I couldn’t recommend her highly enough.

Essential and well delivered training

This training is essential for managers and employees who need to have a clear understanding of Mental health and practical structured ways to support their team.
Mental Health First Aid does exactly that.
I really benefited from Annie’s open-ness and professional knowledge coupled with the group discussions and learning gained from other candidates in different industries was extremely valuable.
It has really helped me identify new ways of working and supporting the health of my team. This course, just like physical first aid gives clear guidance on immediate support that can be applied in a multitude of scenarios.
I would recommend this training for at least one person in every workplace.

All the staff involved gave glowing accounts

During post-recession business expansion it was felt that senior managers would benefit from some training in leadership, time management, personal impact and self-awareness skills. Using Sarah’s HR experience and training abilities it was possible to combine this with a search for potential future directors. All the staff involved gave glowing accounts of the way Sarah has improved their management capabilities. Even the management training doubters were won around! Output from the staff exercises and insights from Sarah have been combined with staff performance appraisals to identify directorial talent. We will not hesitate to use Sarah’s services again when we need them.

Sarah helped our senior staff with HR and management training. All feedback from staff was positive and I’m sure it wasn’t just because of the chocolate rewards used in some of the exercises! Her training and insight has aided us in targeting potential future Directors of the company and empowered other staff in their management roles.
